Inclement Weather & School Closing Information

The Edison Township Public School District currently utilizes the Connect-Ed service to notify parents, the community, faculty, and staff of any school closings, including but not limited to inclement weather closings, and early closings/dismissals.

Parents of students in grades K-5 will be notified when school is dismissed prior to regular closing time. The student will be sent home if the parent (or someone designated by the parent) has been notified.

Parents can find out if school is closed for weather conditions by tuning to one of the following stations or consulting the district website:

  • FOX - Channel 5
  • WNBC - Channel 4
  • NEWS 12 NJ – Channel 12

Connect-Ed Services

The Edison Township School District began using the Connect-Ed service on January 9, 2008 as our school-to-parent communication service. With the Connect-Ed service, our schools can send periodic and personalized voice messages to parents within minutes. The Connect-Ed service will be used to complement our emergency preparedness procedures and to inform parents of upcoming school events such as statewide testing, fund-raisers and PTA meetings.
